State Senator Glenn Coffee
When going into battle you want someone relentless to fight by your side, someone who won't quit when the going gets tough. For Oklahomans that someone is Senator Glenn Coffee. He's rolled up his sleeves and been through the trenches to make sure trial lawyers don't win the war waged in Oklahoma.

For over a decade, House and Senate Republicans aimed to reform Oklahoma's broken justice system. Frivolous lawsuits brought on by money-grubbing trial lawyers had increased health care costs, were driving the best doctors of out the state in fear of high malpractice insurance rates, and effectively prohibited new businesses from moving in and creating jobs. Oklahoma was in dire need of comprehensive tort reform.

Coffee, with help from Rep. Dan Sullivan, stepped directly into the firefight between Republican and Democratic lawmakers to lead the charge for the passage of Oklahoma's landmark lawsuit reform bill. The bill would bring a more favorable business climate to the state and encourage talented doctors to return to practice in Oklahoma.

Thanks to Coffee's actions the days of jackpot justice in Oklahoma are over, and he still maintained citizens' constitutional right to have legitimate grievances appropriately addressed in court. For his efforts, Coffee was awarded the 2009 "Gold Medal Award for the Best State Civil Justice Legislation" from the American Tort Reform Association for passage of lawsuit reform.

Coffee is a real tort reform war hero.
